CASTRIES, St Lucia — A Dennery fugitive captured at a medical facility is now in police custody after evading authorities for nearly a year in connection with the murder investigation of 66-year-old Augustus Forde, according to police sources.
Authorities said the suspect had been on the run since February 2025 following a violent altercation with another male, who later died from injuries sustained during the incident. This development follows the Augustus Forde homicide in Aux Leon, Dennery, which police have been investigating since February 2025.

Police sources indicated the suspect also sustained injuries during the confrontation but did not seek immediate medical attention. The untreated wound reportedly became severely infected over time, forcing him to seek assistance at a medical facility on February 13.
It was there that the individual was recognized by a law enforcement officer and immediately taken into custody, authorities said.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police have not released the identity of the suspect, and no additional details, including potential charges or a court timeline, were provided.
