CASTRIES, St Lucia — A multi-unit Dennery Operation has resulted in the recovery of suspected narcotics and ammunition, with three individuals charged following coordinated police searches in Dennery and Dennery Valley.
The March 25, 2026, operation involved officers from the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit, Special Operations Team, Tactical Response Unit, Special Services Unit, and the Central Intelligence Unit, underscoring ongoing enforcement efforts targeting illegal drugs and ammunition.
Three charged after Dennery Operation searches
During a search of a residence at Aux Lyons, officers discovered a quantity of suspected cannabis resin. Authorities arrested 37-year-old Giselle James, who was charged with Possession of Controlled Drugs and Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply.
In a separate search at Green Mountain, Dennery, officers recovered five rounds of .380 ammunition. Two individuals, 21-year-old Denis Bertrand and 24-year-old Akyma Flavien, were arrested and later charged with Possession of Ammunition.
James was granted bail of $10,000, cash or suitable surety. Flavien received bail of $1,000, while Bertrand was granted bail of $5,000, cash or suitable surety.
The charges mark the immediate legal outcome of the Dennery Operation as police continue targeted actions against narcotics and ammunition offences. Similar enforcement efforts have led to recent breakthroughs, including a southern police raid that uncovered guns, highlighting ongoing concerns about illegal weapons across communities. Authorities have not said whether further arrests or charges are expected.
