Ernest Hilaire CIP Scandal Intensifies with RICO Lawsuit and Political Turmoil

Castries, Saint Lucia (June 12, 2024) — In a robust defense of embattled Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire, Speaker of the House Claudius Francis has stirred the political landscape of Saint Lucia with his pointed comments on the ongoing Ernest Hilaire CIP scandal. While staunchly supporting Hilaire, Francis’s remarks have simultaneously cast doubt on the actions of Mc Claude Emmanuel, the young CEO of the CIP. This development comes as both Hilaire and Emmanuel are named defendants in a RICO lawsuit filed by MSR Media, intensifying the scrutiny on the CIP.

Francis’s Defense of Hilaire

Claudius Francis, a seasoned politician, drew from his personal and professional relationship with Ernest Hilaire to defend him against the mounting allegations. Francis underscored Hilaire’s commitment to transparency and integrity, particularly during his tenure in opposition from 2016 to 2021. He highlighted Hilaire’s unprecedented move to introduce a negative resolution in the House to counteract legislation that would weaken the CIP’s integrity, despite the motion’s eventual failure.

“Ernest Hilaire is one of the most principled individuals I have ever known,” Francis stated. “During his time in opposition, he fought tirelessly to ensure the CIP was transparent and accountable. The accusations against him now are unfounded and politically motivated.”

Francis pointed to Hilaire’s handling of the Range Rover case as evidence of his resilience and honesty. Despite being the target of relentless political attacks, Hilaire’s belief in the truth saw him through, Francis argued. He dismissed the current allegations against Hilaire concerning the CIP, attributing them to a disgruntled individual with ulterior motives.

Targeting Mc Claude Emmanuel

In stark contrast to his defense of Hilaire, Francis’s comments on CIP CEO Mc Claude Emmanuel were less supportive. Francis expressed concern over Emmanuel’s meeting with the main antagonist in the current lawsuit, questioning the legitimacy and authorization of the meeting. He implied that Emmanuel’s actions require clarification, suggesting that the young CEO might have acted improperly.

“I am bothered by the revelation that the CIP’s CEO met with the main antagonist,” Francis remarked. “There is no good reason for this, especially if the trip was not sanctioned by the authorities. His explanations so far have fallen very short.”

Revelations from the DBS Interview

In a recent interview with DBS television in Saint Lucia, it was revealed that CIP CEO Mc Claude Emmanuel met with MSR Media lawyers in Washington, D.C., in an effort to clear his name. During this meeting, it is believed that Emmanuel may have divulged information implicating Ernest Hilaire, the Minister responsible for the CIP program. This revelation has escalated the scandal, with MSR Media now elevating Hilaire from a co-conspirator to a co-defendant in the lawsuit.

This context has intensified the political dynamics, as it was in response to these revelations that Claudius Francis saw fit to come to Hilaire’s defense. Francis’s defense appears to be a strategic move to protect Hilaire following the implication made by Emmanuel during his discussions with MSR Media.

The RICO Case

The recent filing of a RICO lawsuit by MSR Media has added a new dimension to the Ernest Hilaire CIP scandal. The lawsuit, which names both Hilaire and Emmanuel as defendants, alleges a pattern of racketeering within the CIP. This serious accusation brings the operations and governance of the CIP under intense scrutiny.

Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre, amidst the high level of corruption within his government, faces mounting pressure to address the allegations against Hilaire. Francis’s assertion that Pierre would have dismissed Hilaire at the slightest hint of corruption is now under question, challenging the administration’s commitment to transparency.

05
of 06
Public and Political Reactions

The reactions to Francis’s defense of Hilaire and criticism of Emmanuel have been polarized. Supporters of Hilaire view the accusations as politically motivated and praise Francis for standing by a principled politician. However, critics argue that the defense is an attempt to protect a key political figure at the expense of transparency and accountability.

Mc Claude Emmanuel’s situation has garnered significant sympathy, with many viewing him as a young professional caught in a political crossfire. His claim of acting on Hilaire’s advice adds complexity to the narrative, raising questions about the internal dynamics of the CIP.

06
of 06
Broader Implications

The defense of Ernest Hilaire by Claudius Francis, juxtaposed with the criticism of CIP CEO Mc Claude Emmanuel, underscores the contentious nature of the ongoing Ernest Hilaire CIP scandal. As the RICO case unfolds, the political and legal landscapes in Saint Lucia are set to face significant turbulence. The outcome of these events will test the integrity of the nation’s political institutions and the commitment of its leaders to uphold transparency and accountability.

Earnest Hilaire has crossed the line again which i expected to, based on the defrauding the country of customs duty on a vehicle he claimed to pay for no one really knows. And even if the vehicle was his that doesn’t make him removed the comptroller of customers in his position and replaced him with his puppet so he can removed the vehicle from customs not paying the duty? When the vehicle was purchased in the name of the st Lucia missions office in the UK. So it catches up with him now with the CIP funds. He needs to go to jail for messing with the country’s patrimony funds.
