Apple’s evolving 2025 product lineup comes into focus after fresh iPhone 17 Pro leaks

CUPERTINO, Calif. — Apple’s latest developments, spanning iPhone 17 Pro design leaks, foldable iPhone technology, and MacBook Air pricing strategies, are shaping headlines as the company prepares for its 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference. According to Forbes, the past week has revealed a wave of information that could signal Apple’s next major transition in hardware, services, and environmental strategy.

WWDC25 to Spotlight AI and Software Advancements

Apple officially announced WWDC25 will take place the week of June 9, 2025, combining in-person and online experiences. The annual event is expected to showcase Apple’s latest software innovations and introduce new tools, frameworks, and features to developers. However, anticipation is centered around Apple Intelligence—its long-awaited generative AI initiative—as the company seeks to close the gap with competitors in the AI space.

Leaked design details point to USB-C retention and a subtle iPhone 17 Pro redesign

The Verge recently shared leaked CAD files of the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models, revealing subtle design changes. 3D-printed mockups suggest marginal differences between the two flagships, while both retain USB-C ports—signaling Apple’s decision to hold off on launching a portless model, despite speculation surrounding the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air.

The iPhone 17 Pro leaks show Apple leaning into refinement rather than reinvention. While some fans anticipated a radical shift, the preservation of USB-C hints at stability in user experience over riskier innovation.

Foldable iPhone expected to use durable liquid glass

Details about Apple’s foldable iPhone are also emerging. As reported by MacRumors, the device is expected to incorporate a metallic glass hinge referred to as “liquid glass,” offering strength 2.5 times greater than titanium alloy. This material’s resistance to deformation and its glossy finish may give Apple a competitive edge in the foldable market. However, analysts say the foldable iPhone likely won’t debut until after the iPhone 17 lineup launches.

Walmart undercuts Apple with M1 MacBook Air deal

While Apple’s M4 MacBook Air leads its laptop portfolio, the company is offloading its older M1 model through Walmart. The 2020 MacBook Air (8/256 configuration) is now available for $649, well below Apple’s own refurbished pricing for newer models like the M3 Air, which starts at $759. The strategy helps Apple preserve the symbolic $999 price point for newer models while giving budget-conscious buyers an entry point into the Mac ecosystem.

AirPods Max upgrade targets professional creators

Apple is upgrading the AirPods Max with lossless and ultra-low latency audio, making them ideal for creators using tools like Logic Pro. With a USB-C connection, musicians can now record and mix in Personalized Spatial Audio with head tracking, elevating the headphones’ appeal in professional workflows. The enhancements aim to reduce latency and boost production-grade audio fidelity—features long requested by Apple’s music-creator base.

Apple Arcade’s discoverability problem resurfaces

Amid success with Apple TV+, the Apple Arcade gaming service continues to struggle for visibility. Industry analysts are urging Apple to spin Arcade into its own dedicated app, potentially integrating Game Center features to create a unified hub for gaming discovery and community engagement. Critics argue the current setup buries potential blockbuster titles behind App Store friction, limiting Arcade’s growth despite strong content.

Apple commits $100 million to clean energy in China

In support of its commitment to global climate goals, Apple has announced a nearly $100 million investment in renewable energy projects in China. The second phase of the China Clean Energy Fund aims to add 550,000 megawatt-hours of wind and solar power to the grid annually. Apple’s previous efforts in the region resulted in over one gigawatt of new clean energy infrastructure. The expanded fund demonstrates its intent to green its supply chain while reinforcing corporate sustainability objectives.

Apple’s trajectory: blending design, strategy, and sustainability

As Apple’s June event approaches, recent product developments and pricing strategies reveal a company focused on refinement over reinvention. With the iPhone 17 Pro leaks signaling subtle design shifts and foldable iPhone innovation on the horizon, Apple appears committed to balancing evolution with long-term vision.
