Lower fuel prices in Barbados ease costs for consumers with reductions in gas, diesel, and kerosene this month.
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Consumers in Barbados are set to benefit from lower fuel prices in Barbados, as the government announced reductions in gasoline, diesel, and kerosene prices effective December 12. According to the Government Information Service (GIS), the monthly price review aligns local fuel costs with global market trends, offering much-needed relief to households and businesses.
Gasoline prices have been reduced to $3.74 per liter, a decrease of $0.07, while diesel now costs $3.23 per liter, reflecting a drop of $0.11. Kerosene prices also saw a slight reduction, now retailing at $1.73 per liter, down by $0.02.
The government emphasized that these adjustments, made through a systematic monthly review, are designed to shield consumers from the volatility of global oil prices while ensuring local prices reflect international trends. This approach has been lauded as a balanced mechanism to stabilize fuel costs and provide relief during times of economic uncertainty.
The reductions come as global markets continue to grapple with inflationary pressures, offering some respite to Barbadian consumers. With transportation and energy costs accounting for a significant portion of household expenses, lower fuel prices are expected to positively impact both individual consumers and businesses.
The announcement is particularly timely as the holiday season increases demand for transportation and energy use. Barbadians are encouraged to stay informed about monthly fuel pricing updates through government channels.
