CASTRIES, Saint Lucia – An RSLPF Massive Drug Bust in Castries has led to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of controlled drugs and ammunition. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) confirmed that the high-impact operation was part of its intensified crackdown on illicit drug activities in the northern policing division.
The two-phased exercise, carried out by the Gang, Narcotics, and Firearms Unit on February 28, 2025, targeted Jeremie Street, Castries. Officers searched thirty-six individuals, recovering quantities of cannabis and cannabis resin from various locations.
RSLPF Drug Raid Leads to Cannabis and Cash Seizure
As part of the RSLPF Massive Drug Bust, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Liberation Bar, located at the corner of Carl Crescent Street and Jeremie Street. The operation resulted in the recovery of:
- 245 grams of cannabis
- 178 grams of cannabis resin
- EC$3,852 and US$153 in cash
Three suspects were taken into custody:
- Earland Charles of Carille, Castries (Proprietor)
- Darren Jason Charles of La Clery, Castries
- Daniell Didier of Ravine Chabot, Castries
Ammunition Seized at Suspect’s Residence
Further investigations led to search warrants at the residences of the suspects. At the home of Darren Jason Charles, officers discovered 21 rounds of .380 ammunition, leading to an additional charge of possession of ammunition.
All three individuals faced charges for:
- Possession of controlled drugs (cannabis)
- Possession of cannabis resin
- Possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply
Court Proceedings and Bail Applications
On March 3, 2025, the accused appeared before the First District Court, where they applied for bail. The court granted the following bail amounts:
Earland Charles and Daniell Didier:
- Possession of controlled drugs: EC$2,000
- Possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply: EC$3,000
- Possession of cannabis resin: EC$3,000
- Possession of cannabis resin with intent to supply: EC$7,000
Darren Jason Charles:
- Possession of controlled drugs: EC$1,500
- Possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply: EC$2,400
- Possession of cannabis resin with intent to supply: EC$5,000
- Possession of ammunition: EC$8,000
Additionally, police revealed that Earland Charles had been previously charged in November 2024 with drug-related offenses, which remain before the courts.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling drug operations across the island. Authorities warn that further large-scale drug busts will be conducted as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal networks.
