St Lucia roadworks bring temporary nighttime closures to Chaussee intersection for critical upgrades.
Castries, St Lucia – St Lucia roadworks will bring a temporary closure to the intersection of Chaussee Road and Morne Du Don Road, the Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Transport (DIPT) has announced. Starting at 6 a.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2024, the closure is part of ongoing infrastructure rehabilitation aimed at constructing a manhole at this critical intersection.
According to a statement from the Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Transport (DIPT), while daytime access will resume on Monday, November 25, nighttime closures will take effect from 8 p.m. until the manhole construction is complete. As part of this St Lucia roadworks initiative, motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to plan alternate routes and exercise caution when traveling near the site.
The DIPT has urged motorists to utilize alternate routes to avoid potential delays and to exercise caution when navigating the vicinity of the work site. Pedestrians are also advised to remain vigilant and adhere to warning signs and cautionary devices placed around the area to ensure their safety.
This road rehabilitation project forms part of a broader effort to improve Saint Lucia’s infrastructure, with the DIPT apologizing for any inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption.
Motorists are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly and monitor further updates on the completion of this phase of construction.
