Scattered showers and thunderstorms expected as tropical wave affects St Lucia weather August 22 2025
Castries, St Lucia — St Lucia weather August 22 2025 is being shaped by a tropical wave, which forecasters say will bring scattered showers and a risk of isolated thunderstorms across the island, according to the Saint Lucia Meteorological Services.

In Castries Harbour, tides will be low at 9:22 a.m. and high at 3:47 p.m. In Vieux Fort Bay, tides will be low at 10:49 a.m. and high at 4:54 p.m. The marine forecast advises caution, as passing showers or thunderstorms could temporarily cause rougher seas.
Regional weather outlook
For the Lesser Antilles, conditions will be partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at intervals with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.
Meteorologists warn that the tropical wave influencing today’s weather carries a high chance of developing into a tropical depression this weekend as it moves north of the northern Leeward Islands.
Another tropical wave, located in the central tropical Atlantic and moving westward at 17 mph (28 km/h), has a medium chance of development in the coming days. Meanwhile, a third wave has emerged off the coast of West Africa, moving westward at 6 mph (9 km/h).
Weekend forecast
The Saint Lucia Meteorological Services cautions that unsettled weather is likely to persist into the weekend, with periods of heavy showers and thunderstorms expected as tropical disturbances continue to track across the Caribbean.
