CASTRIES, St Lucia — Police are investigating a Barre Du Chaussee death after an unidentified man was discovered unresponsive early Friday morning in the Castries community.
Officers attached to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force responded shortly after the discovery. Authorities confirmed the deceased was found with a visible injury.
The man’s identity has not yet been established. Police said efforts are underway to formally identify him and notify relatives.
Investigation into Barre Du Chaussee Death Remains Ongoing
Law enforcement personnel remained at Barre Du Chaussee for several hours, processing the scene and gathering evidence. Sections of the area were secured while investigators conducted preliminary inquiries.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has not disclosed the nature of the injury or confirmed the cause of death. Officials have also not stated whether foul play is suspected at this stage.
The discovery comes amid ongoing investigations into other unexplained deaths across the island, including a recent case in Vieux Fort where a body was found in a shallow grave. Authorities have not indicated any connection between that incident and the Barre Du Chaussee death.
