Police investigate Arundel Hill shooting as second Castries attack in two days
CASTRIES, St Lucia — A predawn burst of gunfire in Arundel Hill, Marchand, claimed one life and wounded another, pushing St Lucia’s 2025 homicide total to 41. The incident is the second deadly gun attack reported in Castries in less than 48 hours.
According to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly after 1 a.m. on July 5th, 2025, and found a male victim with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been confirmed.
A second male victim was also injured during the attack and was transported to hospital for medical treatment. His condition has not been disclosed.
The Arundel Hill shooting occurred just two days after a fatal gun attack in Wilton’s Yard, Castries, where a man, a pregnant woman, and her unborn child were shot and killed. Read more on the Wilton’s Yard triple homicide here.
Authorities say Thursday night’s violence may be linked to the earlier killing of a New Village resident, though they have not confirmed any connection to the Marchand case. No suspects have been arrested in any of the recent shootings.
