Police appeal for information in Balata Babonneau fatal chopping
BALATA, Babonneau — Police have launched an investigation into the Balata Babonneau fatal chopping that claimed the life of a 39-year-old man on Wednesday, September 3.
According to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), officers from the Babonneau Police Station responded to a report at about 2:38 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 39-year-old Junior Leon, a resident of Balata.
A medical practitioner later pronounced Leon dead at the scene. Police confirmed that the matter is being investigated as a fatal chopping.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has appealed to the public for assistance with the case. Individuals with information are urged to contact the Babonneau Police Station at 456-4120. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by dialing 555 or through the RSLPF Crime Hotline App, available on the Google Play Store.
This latest case follows other violent incidents reported in recent weeks, including the fatal shooting of an ex-inmate in Marchand. Police continue to call for public cooperation as investigations into homicides across the island remain active.
As of Friday, September 5, investigators had not released further details. The RSLPF confirmed that inquiries are ongoing as police work to establish the circumstances surrounding Leon’s death.
