Terrel Morille charged in Canice Felicien murder case after arrest and positive ID
GROS ISLET, St Lucia – A 20-year-old man has been charged in the Canice Felicien murder case, marking a breakthrough in the January 2025 killing that shocked the Gros Islet community. Police say Terrel Lasander Morille was arrested and formally charged following months of investigation by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force.
According to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), officers from the Police Marine Unit assisted the Major Crimes Unit in arresting Morille on Sunday, June 29, 2025. The arrest follows the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Canice Felicien, a resident of Notre Dame Street, who was gunned down on Dauphin Street, Gros Islet, on January 15, 2025.
On Tuesday, July 1, police conducted an identification parade during which Morille was positively identified. The next morning, Wednesday, July 2, officers formally cautioned and charged him with murder.
He was later brought before the court and has since been remanded at the Bordelais Correctional Facility, pending further judicial proceedings.
Felicien’s murder drew widespread concern earlier this year, further intensifying public pressure on authorities to curb violent crime. Police say the investigation into the Canice Felicien murder case is ongoing, and they continue to encourage public cooperation in similar matters.
In a statement, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) thanked the various units and members of the public who contributed to progress in the case.
“I appeal for your continued collaboration and vigilance towards making Saint Lucia a safer place for all,” the statement concluded.
