Castries neighborhood shaken after fatal Conway Gardens shooting
CASTRIES, Saint Lucia – A young man was fatally shot in the Conway Gardens area of Castries on Saturday evening, marking the island’s 14th homicide of the year.
The incident reportedly occurred after nightfall near the neighborhood’s basketball court. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name or age, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.
Residents of Conway Gardens expressed concern and frustration in the aftermath of the shooting. “This is getting out of hand,” said one resident who wished to remain anonymous. “We need to find a way to stop this violence before it claims more lives.”
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has confirmed that an investigation is underway. No arrests or further details have been disclosed at this time.
