Second Suspect at Large After Corinth Armed Robber Shot Dead in Failed Robbery Attempt

Corinth, Saint Lucia – A Corinth Armed Robber Shot dead during a failed robbery attempt has left residents shaken after gunfire erupted in the early hours of Sunday. The incident, which occurred around 1:30 a.m., involved two armed assailants targeting a well-known business in the Corinth community.

One of the armed intruders was fatally wounded when licensed firearm holders on the premises confronted the attackers. The second suspect managed to escape and remains at large, as police launch a full investigation into the Corinth Armed Robber Shot incident.

Failed Robbery Turns Deadly

Eyewitness accounts revealed that the two assailants stormed the business establishment, brandishing firearms and demanding valuables. However, their plans were swiftly thwarted when licensed firearm holders on the scene opened fire in defense.

“We were inside, and two men entered wielding guns, wanting to rob the place, but two licensed firearm holders opened fire. They ran, but one of them was shot. The other escaped,” recounted a witness.

The wounded gunman fled a short distance but collapsed nearby, where his lifeless body was discovered with a firearm close to his person.

Crime Scene Investigation Underway

Law enforcement officials, including crime scene investigators, swiftly arrived on the scene to cordon off the area and restrict access to both pedestrians and motorists. Authorities processed the area for evidence as part of their investigation into the incident.

The second suspect remains on the run, and police are appealing to the public to assist with any information that could help locate the individual.

Escalating Concerns Over Crime

This latest incident marks Saint Lucia’s 76th homicide for the year and highlights the ongoing concerns surrounding violent crime as the holiday season approaches. Residents and businesses have grown increasingly wary of criminal activity, particularly in high-target areas.

Local authorities have reiterated the need for community vigilance while acknowledging the role licensed firearm holders played in protecting lives and property during this incident.

Call for Public Assistance

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) urges anyone with information on the escaped suspect to contact the nearest police station or the Crime Hotline at 555. Anonymous tips can also be submitted via the RSLPF Crime Hotline Application, available on the Google Play Store.
