CASTRIES, St Lucia — Dennery raids have resulted in three individuals being charged after police uncovered illegal drugs and a firearm during coordinated searches, underscoring ongoing concerns about weapons and narcotics within the community.
The multi-agency operation took place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, and involved officers from the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit, the Special Operations Team, the Special Services Unit, and the Central Intelligence Unit, according to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force.
2 charged after drugs recovered at Dennery residence
During the raids, officers executed a search warrant at the residence of 41-year-old Lucien Polius, also known as “Smoke Run,” where they recovered cannabis, cannabis resin, and cannabis wax.
Polius and another occupant, 60-year-old Lucianna Harry, were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis resin, possession of cannabis resin with intent to supply, possession of cannabis, and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
Both individuals were granted bail in the sum of $4,000 each as the matter proceeds before the court.
The charges reflect suspected drug distribution activity, which remains a focus for law enforcement efforts targeting the illegal narcotics trade.
Gun and cocaine seizure leads to additional charges
In a separate search in Dennery Village, officers executed a warrant at the premises of 32-year-old Brian Snagg, also known as “Blanc.”
Police reported the recovery of one Luger pistol, seven rounds of 9mm ammunition, and a quantity of cocaine during that search.
Snagg was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of cocaine, and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.
He was granted bail totaling $39,500 across the charges, including $25,000 for possession of a firearm and $10,000 for possession of ammunition.
The discovery of both a firearm and narcotics during the Dennery raids raises concerns about the overlap between illegal weapons and drug activity, which authorities have identified as a key driver of crime.
Coordinated raids target illegal weapons and narcotics
The Dennery raids formed part of a broader law enforcement strategy involving multiple specialized units working together to disrupt criminal activity.
Such coordinated efforts are aimed at removing illegal firearms from circulation while targeting drug distribution networks that pose risks to public safety. Similar enforcement action in the district has been seen before, including a previous Dennery operation that led to drug and ammunition charges.
The latest case also follows another Dennery cocaine arrest, adding further context to recent anti-drug enforcement activity in the area.
For residents, the outcome of the raids reflects continued police focus on preventing escalation linked to armed and drug-related crime in affected communities.
The three accused are expected to return to court as the matters proceed.
