Authorities investigate Saint Lucia’s 8th homicide as Jolie William stabbed to death.
GROS ISLET, Saint Lucia – Popular TikTok personality Jolie William was brutally stabbed to death in the early hours of Friday, February 21, in a violent attack at a guest house in Reduit, Gros Islet. Another woman, who was also injured in the assault, remains hospitalized in critical condition as authorities intensify their investigation.
William’s death marks Saint Lucia’s 8th homicide for 2025, fueling public outrage over the country’s escalating violent crime crisis.
According to police reports, the two women were inside the guest house when a male suspect entered and launched a vicious knife attack. Both sustained multiple stab wounds before emergency responders arrived at the scene. Despite medical efforts, Jolie William succumbed to her injuries, while the surviving victim continues to fight for her life in the hospital.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the suspect but confirmed that he was well-known to the deceased. Law enforcement officials are actively pursuing leads and have urged the public to come forward with any information that could aid in their ongoing investigation.
This latest homicide adds to an alarming wave of violence that has shaken the nation. Earlier this week, 37-year-old Irvin Ferdinand was fatally shot in Desruisseaux on Tuesday, February 18, while on Wednesday, February 19, 18-year-old Kyle Sylvester was stabbed to death in Rose Hill, Castries. Just last week, 27-year-old mother of three Alana Bernard was gunned down near her home in Corinth, further deepening concerns over public safety.
In response to the tragic killing, Leader of the Opposition Allen Chastanet took to Instagram to express his grief and called for urgent action to protect women and communities from rising violence.
“I am devastated by the tragic loss of Jolie William, the second young woman tragically taken from her loved ones in the last few weeks. No family should have to endure this pain, and no community should have to grieve like this. We must do more to protect our women, to stand up against violence, and to build a society where every woman feels safe and valued. My thoughts are with Jolie’s loved ones and all those mourning this senseless loss. Saint Lucia, we cannot accept this as our reality. We must act.”
William had built a loyal following on TikTok, where she was known for her engaging content. Her untimely death has triggered an outpouring of grief online, with many of her supporters expressing shock and sorrow over the tragedy.
