RICHFOND, St Lucia – A deadly early morning Dennery shooting spree on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, has left one man dead and two others hospitalized with gunshot wounds, prompting a swift police response and multiple arrests.
According to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), officers at the Richfond Police Station received a report around 2:40 a.m. of gunfire in Grand Ravine, Dennery. Responding to the scene, police found 21-year-old Kennedy Leon, also known as “Scrappy,” unresponsive at his residence. Leon had sustained multiple gunshot injuries and was transported to a nearby medical facility, where he was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
While police were still on scene at Grand Ravine, they reportedly heard additional gunfire in the distance. Shortly after, a second report was made of a shooting at Ti La Resource, Dennery. Officers responded to find two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds: a 23-year-old woman from Ti La Resource and a 23-year-old man from Bexon, Castries. Both victims were taken to a medical facility for treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) confirmed that investigations into both shootings continued throughout the day, involving joint efforts from the Dennery and Richfond Police, the Major Crimes Unit, the Special Services Unit (SSU) Northern Division, and the Gros Islet CID. Law enforcement executed multiple searches and arrests across the Dennery district.
During one search operation, officers discovered and seized a .22 caliber revolver along with one round of .22 ammunition. One individual was arrested in connection with that discovery, and four other individuals of interest remain in police custody assisting with the investigations.
Both shooting incidents are currently under investigation by the Major Crimes Unit, with the RSLPF promising to provide updates as new information becomes available.
