CASTRIES, St Lucia — A Gros Islet firearm bust has led to the seizure of multiple weapons and the arrest of four individuals after police intercepted a vehicle near Pigeon Island in the early hours of March 21, authorities said.
Officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station stopped the vehicle around 12:45 a.m. and conducted a search, which resulted in the recovery of two firearms, 64 rounds of ammunition, and an extended magazine, according to police.

Police identified the four occupants as Mayim King, 25, of Sans Souci, Castries; Sanjay Papius, 23, of La Clery, Castries; Kianna Larcher, 21, of La Clery, Castries; and Antonia Joseph, 34, of La Toc Road, Castries.
All four were arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of ammunition, and possession of a component part of a firearm. They were each granted bail totaling $80,000 on all counts.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force did not indicate whether the firearm recovery was linked to any wider investigation, but the case adds to a recent string of enforcement actions by law enforcement, including St Lucia drug arrests that left 3 charged after police raids.
The matter is now expected to proceed before the courts as police continue efforts to curb illegal firearms and other criminal activity across St Lucia.
