CORINTH, SAINT LUCIA – A 27-year-old mother of three was shot dead near her home in Corinth on Tuesday afternoon, adding to growing concerns over violent crime in the area.
The victim, Alana Bernard, was reportedly just steps away from her residence when she was attacked. According to emergency officials, the Saint Lucia Fire Service received a distress call at approximately 4:56 p.m. Paramedics transported her to the Owen King European Union (OKEU) Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

Bernard’s murder has left her family devastated. A grieving relative, speaking to St. Lucia Times, expressed shock over the incident, saying, “I don’t know anything. I got a call saying they shot her.” The relative added, “This is very sad. This thing needs to stop.”
Bernard lived with her three children, parents, and sister. Her youngest child is nine months old. Relatives stated that she was on her way home when she was shot, raising concerns over safety in residential areas.
