According to eyewitness reports, Maximin was ambushed by two assailants while picking up his daughter and another family member from a nearby preschool. The attackers, who were lying in wait, fired multiple shots at Maximin, resulting in fatal injuries and severe damage to his vehicle in what is now being referred to as a Saint Lucia targeted shooting.
