Saint Lucian Citizen Murder Case Leads to Arrest of Plattsburgh Man in New York
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. — A 61-year-old man from Plattsburgh has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the disappearance and death of Jahfari J Joseph, a Saint Lucian citizen. The New York State Police, in collaboration with the Plattsburgh Police Department, announced the arrest of Timothy Timmons on Jan. 7, 2025.

Joseph, 40, was first reported missing to the Plattsburgh Police Department after he was last seen on Dec. 29, 2024. The investigation quickly escalated when the New York State Police identified a residence at 646 Fuller Road in Peru, N.Y., as a key location in the case. Officers responded to the scene on Jan. 6, 2025, at approximately 10 a.m. and began processing evidence.
Described as a Black male standing approximately 5’7” tall and weighing 142 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, Joseph’s disappearance triggered a multi-agency effort. Search warrants were executed, and multiple interviews were conducted, leading authorities to gather enough evidence to arrest Timmons.

Timmons was processed at the State Police barracks in Plattsburgh and subsequently arraigned in the Town of Peru Court. He was remanded to the Clinton County Jail without bail.
