CASTRIES, St. Lucia — The Frederick Cabinet Poll comes as government minister Richard Frederick faces serious allegations of rape and misappropriation of SSDF funds, with his phone seized by police as part of an active investigation.
The Richard Frederick investigation has already put Prime Minister Philip J Pierre under pressure from multiple fronts, with the opposition UWP demanding answers on Cabinet accountability and ministerial responsibility.
Prime Minister Philip J Pierre has remained largely silent since the arrest.
The Frederick Cabinet Poll: Why Pierre’s Silence Is No Longer Acceptable
Every day Frederick remains in cabinet is a day the Prime Minister shares ownership of this scandal. Saint Lucia does not need managed silence. It needs decisive leadership.

How can you have an objective opinion at this stage as to what if any action PM Pierre should take regarding Frederick? And you suggest a vote ?! Since when is the public supposed to make decisions that are clearly, if the matter goes that far, the responsibility of the Courts?
I am no fun of Phillp J Pierre and his corrupt SLP government. However, in fairness to the matter with Richard Frederick, the PM or any other party head in office should never rush to dismiss a minister based on allegation, in the civilize democratic world, ever one should presume innocent until the allegation is fully investigated and adjudicated.
St. Lucian’s must depart from the ignorant mentality of guilty as alleged.
