Upon arriving at the scene, detectives found an unresponsive male victim showing apparent gunshot wounds. A medical doctor later confirmed the victim’s death at the scene. The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Destor Samuel, also known as “Dexter,” of Grand Ravine, Dennery.

The family member stressed that the ease with which individuals obtain guns and the subsequent empowerment they feel contribute significantly to the island’s violence. “People kill each other for the silliest of reasons,” they lamented, highlighting the need for better conflict management education and tougher legal consequences for gun-related offenses​​.
