Major Crimes Unit leads investigation into Cap Estate shooting death of Desruisseaux man
CASTRIES, St Lucia (April 18, 2025) — A Cap Estate shooting death is under active investigation by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, following a fatal incident at a residential property in the northern community on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Brad Francis of Desruisseaux.
According to law enforcement, Francis was shot by a homeowner after being discovered inside an apartment on the property. He sustained a gunshot wound to the lower right abdomen and later died from his injuries.
An official incident report from the Saint Lucia Fire Service confirmed the location of the injury and noted that emergency personnel responded to the scene. Francis received initial treatment at the location before being transported to a medical facility, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has confirmed that the Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation and is in the process of gathering all relevant facts to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Prior to the shooting, a missing persons flyer bearing the image of Brad Francis had been in circulation. It is not yet clear how long he had been missing or how he came to be at the Cap Estate property. No further information has been released regarding his mental or physical condition at the time of the incident.
