Several injured, and one unresponsive after Vieux Fort crash.
VIEUX FORT, St Lucia — Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene of a serious road collision in Vieux Fort on Saturday morning that left eleven people injured and one person unresponsive.
According to information obtained by Unitedpac St Lucia News, the Vieux Fort crash involved three vehicles along the Vieux Fort–Laborie Highway near Hewanorra International Airport. All injured individuals were taken to St Jude Hospital for medical treatment.
One of the victims was found unresponsive when first responders arrived. The person’s condition has not been confirmed.
Emergency teams from the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, the Saint Lucia Fire Service, and ambulance units responded to the incident. Their coordinated efforts ensured that all injured individuals received prompt assistance and that the area was secured.
Authorities have not yet released an official statement on what caused the crash, and investigations are ongoing.
This latest collision comes amid continued public concern over a series of recent traffic incidents across the island. Earlier this month, a fatal accident in Choiseul claimed one life, underscoring the urgent need for heightened road safety awareness and vigilance among motorists.
Traffic along the Vieux Fort–Laborie Highway was temporarily disrupted as emergency crews worked at the scene. As of Saturday evening, no further details had been released regarding the identities or conditions of the victims.
