Criticism Mounts as the Haunting Ghost of Richard Frederick Sparks Public Outrage

Castries, Saint Lucia – The specter of Richard Frederick’s past refuses to fade, as a blistering commentary by Lucian Patriot reignites scrutiny over his controversial legacy. Despite efforts to rebrand himself through political maneuvering and public projects, critics argue that Frederick’s history continues to cast a long shadow over his current role in government.

Lucian Patriot’s critique, titled The Ghost of Richard Frederick, highlights allegations of corruption, abuse of power, and ethical misconduct that have plagued Richard Frederick’s career. The commentary raises questions about past accusations, including the revocation of his U.S. diplomatic and personal visas, legal battles, and allegations of financial impropriety. It also challenges Richard Frederick’s public persona, arguing that his attempts to reshape his image cannot erase documented controversies.

The following is the full commentary by Lucian Patriot:

The Ghost of Richard Frederick

Richard Frederick, try as you may to whitewash the stench off yourself and to try to convince people you are clean, we ALL know otherwise!!

Your BEHAVIOR is indicative of the vile and corrupt character you are. Your own words, the record of your own actions, the trail of destruction you have left behind. And you think that because you fixed a few sidewalks in Castries, it erases that? You think because you have the ability to get a few people to sing your praises in front of a camera, it cleanses you of who you truly are? You think because you are cunning and can use your Thursday night show to lie, play the victim, distort the facts, and fool a naive audience that people of St. Lucia don’t know about you? That Philip Pierre doesn’t know about you?

The SLP called you a drug dealer, a murderer, and a money launderer. They told us that the U.S. doesn’t revoke a diplomatic visa except for very serious reasons. And you think your recent ability to travel to the U.S. clears you of that? Well, it doesn’t! We still want to know why your visas were revoked in the first place. We still need to see proof of a personal visa being reinstated and that your ability to travel to the U.S. is not conditional on you being a government minister!

We saw the leaked transcripts about you in the Wikileaks cables. We saw a small bit of what the Americans noted about you in these transcripts. Not good.

We have seen your own abusive behavior towards women, vendors, and now even the dead! We have seen your vile, homophobic insults. We have heard your xenophobic comments about St. Lucians not born in St. Lucia and your hateful, divisive rhetoric that divides St. Lucians based on race, color of their skin, place of birth, and now, by HAVING DISABILITIES!!! Even your own ministerial colleague had to call you out and denounce your statements about people with disabilities. What a shame!

We have seen your physical assault on police officers, both at the Piton and outside the casino. We have read the court documents of you firing your weapon at your neighbor, the bullet passing inches away from his head, and ending up in his water tank. We have seen where the judge referred to you as “out of control.” We have heard you ask that a woman be beaten and beaten until she dies in pieces, simply because she asked you to leave her name out of your war with her former partner. We have seen you justify and promote statements that people who challenge you should be killed, even having their heads dismembered from their bodies.

We have heard the stories about contracts you have allegedly put in people’s names, and they have to bring you back a significant portion of the contract amount in cash. We heard you when you told us that BOSL closed your account; we also heard the foolish excuse you gave that makes absolutely no sense and does not add up. We remember the stories of you soliciting money under the table from investors, some you have confessed to yourself, namely the Freedom Bay project!

We have also heard the stories of how you’ve won your cases back when you practiced law, some you told yourself. And it wasn’t that you were any bright lawyer. Ask Horace Fraser!

Your history is documented. Your legacy is tainted. And your desperate attempts at rebranding will not fool those who know the truth.

Lucian Patriot’s sharp rebuke underscores the view that Richard Frederick’s political past continues to haunt him, despite his attempts to move forward. While Frederick has often dismissed allegations as politically motivated attacks, his critics argue that unresolved questions remain regarding his past actions and public service record.

With The Ghost of Richard Frederick now reigniting debate, the commentary fuels a broader discussion on accountability and political integrity in Saint Lucia. As public scrutiny intensifies, Frederick’s legacy remains a contentious issue, shaping how many perceive his current role in government.
