This homicide marks the third killing in Saint Lucia this week and follows a series of violent deaths that have intensified public alarm. On Tuesday, February 18, 37-year-old Irvin Ferdinand was fatally shot in Desruisseaux, while just a day later, on Wednesday, 18-year-old Kyle Sylvester was stabbed to death in Rose Hill, Castries.
Adding to the bloodshed, last week Tuesday, 27-year-old mother of three, Alana Bernard, was shot dead near her home in Corinth. Reports indicate she was just steps away from her residence when gunmen opened fire, killing her on the spot.
The surge in deadly violence has reignited public outcry for stronger crime-fighting measures and heightened concerns about security and law enforcement response across the country.
With violent crime continuing to grip Saint Lucia, law enforcement officials are urging witnesses or anyone with information to come forward to aid the ongoing investigations.
