VIEUX FORT, St Lucia — A Vieux Fort stabbing left one man dead and another person in police custody on Monday night, according to emergency responders. The victim has been identified as Jason Francis.

Officers from the Saint Lucia Fire Service responded around 9:44 p.m. to reports of the incident in Pierrot, where the male was found unresponsive at his residence with multiple injuries, including a penetrating chest wound. He was transported for medical care after life-saving efforts, but was later pronounced dead. Police have not confirmed the circumstances surrounding the Vieux Fort stabbing, and details remain unclear.

Vieux Fort stabbing remains under active investigation

Police have confirmed that one individual is in custody, assisting with investigations. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for a later date as authorities continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The killing comes as St Lucia continues to grapple with violent crime, including the recent Desruisseaux fatal stabbing that claimed the life of Daniel Norville. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department in Vieux Fort at 456-3926, dial 555, or use the RSLPF Crime Hotline application.
