VIEUX FORT, St Lucia — Officers from the Criminal Investigations Department at Vieux Fort Police Station are investigating the death of a 34-year-old woman whose decomposed body was discovered in the Pomme area of Augier on Monday afternoon. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force confirmed that a report was received at approximately 3:00 p.m. on May 4, 2026, and responding officers found the body suspended from a tree.
The deceased has been identified as Talia Norma Hippolyte of Augier, Vieux Fort. Her body was transported to St Jude Hospital, where the formal identification was made.
A postmortem examination is scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2026, to establish the cause of death. Police confirmed that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Videos of Decomposed Body Spread on Social Media
Community members have expressed deep concern over videos reportedly circulating on social media that purport to show the deceased at the scene. Residents are calling on the public to stop sharing the content out of respect for Hippolyte and her family. No official action regarding those videos had been publicly announced at the time of publication.
