PALMISTE, Soufriere — A coordinated Soufriere police operation in Palmiste led to the seizure of ammunition and the arrest of 9 individuals, including two juveniles, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force confirmed.

The operation, conducted on Monday, April 27, 2026, involved officers from the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit, Special Operations Team, Soufriere Police Station, Special Services Unit, and Tactical Response Unit. Authorities recovered five rounds of 9mm ammunition and five rounds of high-powered .223 ammunition during the operation.
Bail and Charges Follow Soufriere Police Operation in Palmiste
On April 29, 2026, 31-year-old Kenny Nicholas, 24-year-old Claudinus Phillip, 44-year-old Shawn Henry, 29-year-old Shalane Cyril, 49-year-old Jessica St Prix, 38-year-old Priscillia Boyde, 43-year-old Jahfe Paul, and two 17-year-old male juveniles were formally charged with Possession of Ammunition.
Kenny Nicholas was remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility. Priscillia Boyde and Jahfe Paul were granted bail of $5,000, either cash or suitable surety. Shalane Cyril, Shawn Henry, Claudinus Phillip, and Jessica St. Prix were granted bail of $10,000 under the same conditions. The two juveniles were remanded to the Juvenile Unit at Bordelais Correctional Facility.
Operation Highlights Continued Efforts Against Illegal Firearms
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal firearm activity in Soufriere. Officers emphasized that investigations remain active and encouraged the public to provide information regarding illegal weapons and ammunition.
The arrests and ammunition seizure follow previous operations elsewhere on the island, including in Dennery and Micoud, highlighting the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force’s continued efforts to combat illegal firearms and protect communities.
The operation underscores Saint Lucia’s ongoing enforcement against illegal possession of firearms, with authorities maintaining a zero-tolerance stance toward such offences.
