CASTRIES, St Lucia – The Royal St Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has confirmed that 28-year-old Alana Bernard, a mother of three, was fatally shot in Corinth, Gros Islet, marking the island’s 5th homicide of 2025.
In a video statement, the RSLPF detailed that on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at approximately 4:57 p.m., the Gros Islet Police Station received reports of a shooting in Corinth, Gros Islet. Upon arrival, investigators discovered Bernard lying motionless with apparent injuries. Emergency personnel from the St Lucia Fire Service attended to the victim and transported her to the Owen King European Union (OKEU) Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. A medical practitioner pronounced her dead.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
