ST GEORGE’S, Grenada — Spice Island Beach Resort has completed an overhaul of its meetings and events facilities, repositioning the Grand Anse property as a dedicated destination for executive retreats and corporate leadership gatherings. The relaunch arrives as Caribbean operators move to capture a fast-growing share of the regional business travel market.
Resort management said the upgrade reflects a structural shift in how companies are planning off-sites, with leadership teams favoring smaller, focused environments over traditional conference settings. To mark the launch, planners booking group programs by June 30 will receive 20 percent off room rental fees under a promotional code issued by the property.
Caribbean corporate travel rebound drives investment
The repositioning lands during a measurable rebound in regional business tourism. The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association recorded a 21 percent increase in executive retreat and group program bookings between 2023 and 2024, attributing the jump to renewed corporate spending on team alignment and in-person strategy sessions following the disruption of hybrid work.

That trend has prompted several high-end Caribbean properties to retool inventory traditionally aimed at leisure travelers. Spice Island Beach Resort, a long-standing fixture on Grand Anse Beach recognized with the AAA Five Diamond Award, said its investment is designed to meet demand from organizations seeking secure, full-service venues outside major metropolitan markets.
Two new venues anchor Spice Island Resort relaunch
The upgraded inventory centers on two purpose-built spaces. The St Andrew’s Meeting Room accommodates up to 50 attendees and is equipped with 4K teleconferencing, multi-screen presentation capability, and modular layouts that can shift between plenary and breakout formats. The St Mark’s Boardroom is configured as a 12-person executive suite with soundproofing, privacy controls, and dedicated executive workstations intended for confidential negotiations.
Sheldon Keens-Douglas, Resort Manager of Spice Island Beach Resort, said the design responds to evolving expectations among senior leadership teams. “Executives want the clarity and focus of an off-site without the formality or fatigue of a traditional conference environment,” he said in a statement issued by the property.
Keens-Douglas added that the resort’s beachfront location is intended to support concentration and creative output, citing growing interest from regional and international firms in destinations that blend technical capability with a restorative setting.
Wellness programming bundled into corporate packages
Beyond the meeting venues, the resort has integrated wellness and performance components into its corporate offering. The package includes morning beachfront meditation, guided movement breaks, and a culinary program designed around sustained energy levels through working sessions, alongside evening programming intended to support informal team networking.
The property cited Stanford University research indicating that exposure to natural environments can increase creative problem-solving capacity by up to 60 percent, framing the wellness layer as a productivity feature rather than a leisure add-on. In-house retreat planners are available to tailor programming to specific corporate objectives, including strategic alignment workshops and culture-building exercises.
The launch signals a broader pivot for Caribbean luxury operators toward the corporate segment, where average per-guest spending and length of stay typically exceed leisure benchmarks. For Grenada, which has steadily expanded its hospitality footprint in recent years, the move strengthens the island’s position in a competitive regional market increasingly defined by specialized, high-margin business travel.
