KINGSTOWN, St Vincent — A St Lucia national killed at Great House in the Lowmans area has become the 19th homicide recorded in St Vincent and the Grenadines this year, police confirmed, as two other shooting victims remain hospitalized following the same attack.
Officers were dispatched to the Great House community after receiving a report of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they located three men who had been shot. Two of the victims were transported to hospital for treatment; authorities withheld their names, citing safety concerns. The third man, who sustained a gunshot wound to the face, died from his injuries.
Police Work to Identify St Lucia National Killed in Lowmans
Police identified the deceased as a citizen of St Lucia but disclosed that investigators do not yet have his confirmed name, age, date of birth, or residential address. Local authorities are coordinating with their counterparts in St Lucia to establish a verified identity for the victim.
No suspect has been named, no charges have been filed, and allegations connected to the shooting remain unproven pending the outcome of the inquiry and any subsequent legal proceedings.
Homicide Count Climbs Four Above Last Year’s Pace
The Lowmans shooting pushed the year’s homicide total to 19, four more than the 15 murders recorded during the same period in 2024, according to police figures.
Investigators described the Great House inquiry as progressing smoothly despite two complicating factors: forensic examination results have not yet been returned, and some potential witnesses have been reluctant to cooperate. Police said they expect to release developments to the public as the evidence picture sharpens.
