CASTRIES, St Lucia — A 34-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being injured in a Castries shooting late Sunday night, according to police reports.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force confirmed that Charve Charlemagne, a waiter of Chisel Street, Castries, sustained a gunshot wound to his right thigh on August 31, 2025, around 10:30 p.m. Charlemagne was transported to OKEU Hospital by private means, where medical staff listed his condition as stable. He was scheduled to undergo surgery.

Investigators said preliminary information suggests that Charve Charlemagne was returning home after visiting a local bar in Castries when gunfire erupted. Moments later, he realized he had been struck.
Police reported that the victim received assistance from a passerby, who ensured he was taken to hospital for urgent medical treatment.
